Ms. Amber Warmbier was born in Florida, but has called Monticello home from a young age. After graduating high school, she went on to Eastern Illinois University, where she obtained a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. Ms. Amber worked at a couple of preschool centers in Champaign and gained some administrative experience as an assistant director before accepting God’s calling to come to MCA. MCA continues to be a great source of joy for Ms. Amber as she sees the way God is working through the families that are involved with the school. It has been so exciting to see MCA continue to be a source of light in our community. She’s excited to see where God will lead the school this year, and all of the ways that He will use her to further His kingdom.
Mrs. Bonnie Bayes was born in Monticello at Kirby Hospital. Grew up in DeLand, IL.

Mrs. Bonnie Bayes loved her job as Day Care Provider but was feeling led to be back in a preschool classroom, so she asked God for guidance. He answered that prayer by leading her to MCA! She is now so excited to be back in the classroom and to be a part of the MCA family!

Mrs. Smith was born in Ohio and moved to Iowa as a teenager. She attended Iowa State University, majoring in Teacher Education and then Lincoln Christian College (now Lincoln Christian University), majoring in Early Childhood Education. She worked for Odd Fellows Children’s Home in Lincoln as a teacher for three years and moved on from there to become a Head Teacher at Christian Child Care at Lincoln Christian Church for five years. After she and her husband moved to Monticello in 2000, she worked at Ducky Day Care for fifteen years. She is a member of First Christian Church in Monticello and has had the blessing of going on a mission trip to Taiwan, teaching Sunday School and singing in the worship teams and choir. Their child, Esther Joella, is three and attends MCA.
Mrs. Smith came to MCA because she wants to provide opportunities for children to learn God’s truth and to develop a relationship with Him through the teachings of His Word. She hopes to increase their knowledge of and love for Him, to grow their desire to follow His guidance and to help them learn to accept His grace and mercy. She desires to teach them how to excel as servants in His Kingdom and wants them to experience the joy of following God’s word and living under His grace.
This year will be Mrs. Kim Osborne’s fifth year working at MCA. Before that, she stayed at home with her two boys (Andrew 12, Thomas 11). Mrs. Osborne has 5 years experience working in early child development prior to having children. She studied Early Childcare at Parkland College. During the early years of her children’s lives, she was a stay-at-home mom. During that time, her husband’s company had them traveling quite a bit. Once they knew that they were settled, she knew it was time to get back into teaching. Mrs. Osborne began by offering her time as a Sunday School teacher for Crossroads Church in Monticello. From there, she was introduced into the MCA family. She believes there is no better place to work than a Christian school, “hearing God’s word and teaching His words daily is quite the blessing, as well as teaching alongside so many gifted Christian woman. Watching the little ones grow by God’s words is the best way to start and end each day. ‘And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher’ – 2 Timothy 1:11”.

Music and Piano Teacher
I am very blessed to teach at MCA where I can express my love for God freely to students and staff. I also enjoy teaching a small class with a loving environment. It allows me to build relationships with students on a personal level. I love to hear a student say, 'You are more than a music teacher or piano teacher.' I would like to be a positive role model to our students.Mrs. Helen Lee
Mrs. Lee has been the music teacher and a private piano teacher at MCA since the school started back in 2002. She received her Music Education degree at Oberlin College Conservatory and Master’s degree in Music Education at Temple University with an emphasis in Elementary Music Education and Piano Pedagogy.
Her favorite thing to do is to reach out and connect with children through teaching music and sharing the gift of music.
